In September 2010, a nine-member team started the digital photographic documentation of the Fritz Fey collection. They documented more than 30,000 exhibits from the areas of the history of funfairs and puppets. Thanks to Fritz Fey’s commitment, valuable exhibits and artefacts from all over the world arrived in Lübeck over the course of three decades.
Today, the collection has gained international recognition and scientists from around the world are interested in Lübeck’s collection of historic theatre puppets.
The aim of documenting the collection is to cross borders: international experts are encouraged to contribute to the development of “undiscovered treasures”. A progressive and continuous development in the research area “puppet theatre” can thus be realised and its worldwide significance can be solidified. The inventory is therefore published on a web page. You will gain an impression of the diversity of the collection at puppen.ghsvs.de.
