Publications from “Theaterfiguren im Kolk”

In cooperation with Lübeck’s Puppet Theatre and the UNIMA Deutschland e.V., two publications were published in 2012 from the “Theaterfiguren im Kolk”.

For the future, more publications on our exhibitions and prominent events are planned.

Ausgedacht & Handgemacht.

Fundsache: Kramer +++ entdeckt +++ erkundet +++ entwickelt

Fundsache:Kramer

In February 2012 and in conjunction with our special exhibition “Fundsache Kramer”, a scientific symposium about the artist and professor Harry Kramer took place in which a documentary publication was published. Many who were, and still are, personally, scientifically, and in the artistic field, connected with Harry Kramer had a chance to speak. What emerged was a multifaceted picture of the artistic work of an exceptional artist.

The World of Shadows: Chinese Shadow Puppetry meets Beijing Opera

WorldOfShadows

In the summer of 2012 we presented our special exhibition “Im Reich der Schatten” where Chinese Shadow Theatre meets the Beijing Opera.  Rare shadow puppets from the time of the Cultural Revolution were shown from our inventory, and also Beijing opera robes from 1930 were enlisted on loan. The exhibition was under the patronage of UNESCO. A rich, illustrated catalog was published to accompany the exhibition. Included therein along with texts by the UNESCO about the Intangible Cultural Heritage are detailed descriptions of the historical development and current situation of puppet theatre and the Beijing Opera of the sinologist Dr. Rainald Simon.
